Roasted Chickpeas

2015/01/img_5407.jpg Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are very versatile and can be used for a variety of dishes, sides, and snacks. I recently tried store bought chickpeas and me being the little chef I am wanted to make my own! I usually have a sweet tooth for snacks but sometimes salty and savory sound good too. Roasting chickpeas make a good nutrient-packed, high fiber snack. It’s really simple to make too:

•Preheat oven to 400 F.
•Rinse and drain a can of chickpeas and pat dry really well. The more dry they are, the crispier they will be. Then add about a tablespoon of olive oil and seasonings of your choice. (I used Mrs. Dash Italian seasoning and garlic powder)
•Line a glass container with parchment paper and pour in chickpeas.
•Roast for 45 minutes until crispy.
🔸Savory snack ideas:
Italian seasoning, garlic powder, curry powder, sea salt, pepper, BBQ seasoning, parmesan cheese
🔹Sweet Tooth:
Combination of cinnamon, brown sugar & nutmeg,honey, agave, or cocoa powder
